Sign of Unity…Instrument of Peace

As an organisation, the NCP exists for you and because of you.

As an organisation, it is your needs we serve and your interests we seek to represent.  The strength of our organisation and our ability to continue advocating for the needs of Australian clergy greatly depends on our capacity to maintain and grow our membership base from year to year.

In a time of rapid change and of great challenge, uncertainty and trial for the Australian Church, the strength and encouragement we offer one another through our active membership of the NCP is all the more vitally important.

We believe the NCP continues to represent the interests and needs of all clergy in Australia in an effective and efficient manner – thanks largely to the great work of Sally and Chris at the National Office, whom we thank for their dedication and professionalism.

Conscious of the financial pressures faced by many members, and of the need to keep Membership as affordable as possible, we have kept 2017 subscription price increases to a minimum.  We believe that NCP Membership continues to offer excellent value.  For those who choose either the 5-year or 10-year Membership options, the value for money is even greater.

I therefore encourage you to complete your Membership Renewal and return it with your payment.  Of course you can pay your membership by EFT – you just need to be sure to include your Christian name and Surname as the reference to appear on our statement. This will greatly assist our cash flow and ensure the continued smooth operation of the organisation.

And finally … with membership numbers slowly declining in recent years, remember that the future of the NCP depends on each one of us!  So in addition to renewing your own Membership, I invite you to actively encourage any non-member priests whom you know to consider joining us.  Personal contact and invitation remains the most effective way of growing our membership base – and is something we can all do.

In particular, if you have another priest ministering with you in your parish/ministry setting or in a neighbouring parish who is recently ordained or has recently arrived from overseas, please encourage them to consider joining – and point out the discounted Membership rates for recently ordained and recently arrived clergy.

In closing, I wish you every blessing and success in your ministry in 2017.  May the Lord continue to guide, bless and strengthen us all as we do His work … and as we seek to be a “sign of unity and instrument of peace” to all in our land in the year ahead.
